it's quite a disappointment to watch this movie after reading the original novel. The characters portrayed in the film seems to be less sophisticated and somehow has lose the classic british touch as compared to the pride and prejudice movie. mr woodhouse in the film is too silly and mr elton too. gwyneth as emma is okay, but mr knightley doesn't seem to be much of a gentleman. the scripts too, aren't well said, meaning not with the classic style. I have to say it's not up to my expectation.

This is only a cheap hollywood production with "good looking actors"
Without the quality of Jane Austens´ characters...
I think the british version of Emma is better and closer to the book.

actually Becoming Jane is not based on reality. The writers changed many of the facts of Austen's life to mold it into a cheap copy of her stories. I enjoyed the movie & wanting to know more, I did research on what history says & was truly dismayed that the writers would rob Austen of her imagination, turning her into a scribe of her own life rather than having enough literary capacity to create original interesting characters & dialogue. Remember it's a movie, not fact- read before you believe.
