IT's to bad so many people confuse "singers" with "artists". Selena's version may be fine for those who appreciate overblown, overproduced, meaningless videos. But to compare a "cover " to the work of the person who felt it, wrote it, and produced the original is, well - ridiculous. Consider this - if it weren't for Chrissie, Selena would have had nothing to sing!

I remember being 10 years old and seeing her on MtV back in 82'...I wanted to be her. I still wish I looked half as mysterious and sounded even only a fraction as beautiful as she does.

Very Very well done,brass/wind>gracefully done. strings,very tastefull, drums tigh as tigh allows,with the very artistic bridge change and harmony's bringging magic to the ALREADY ONE OF A KIND "CHRISSIE HYNDE", there is NO better style,grace,and vocal expression out there!!!
"LOVE YA CHRISSIE" p.s. not to mention that look to the camera that would melt the best of us.

true this version is the original one and its good, but selena's version was meant for latinos and pretty much everyone who speaks spanish Selena's brother even said it himself, he heard the song on the radio, loved it, and then thought about how great it would sound as a cumbia, sure, they changed the words, but that was in order to avoid a lawsuit.

I'm a muscian and an instrument builder. This is amazing. I've watched it over and and over. No special individual licks, like in bluegrass. But I'm in love with this. It rocks and pulls my heart apart. I'm not sure why. But it does.
