Classy music from classy LADIES. A SUPERB performance. Where is this kind of entertainment anymore? For someone like myself, a 47-year-old individual, I - at least - have a flickering memory of an era when TALENT and ABILITY ruled the day in television. Can you imagine being, say, 10 years old and having ONLY the jadedness of MTV as your standard for what passes as 'entertainment?' I feel so sorry for this generation and the ones coming after. What a tragic shame...

Pure, glimmering, beautiful genius. I don't understand how a person could NOT get shivers watching this phenomenal display of effortless and super-human vocal control. I firmly believe that talent of this magnitude exists today, but that the rare individuals who posses such talent are simply not appealing to the mass media, and thus go undiscovered and undeveloped. This sort of wasted genius is perhaps the greatest tragedy in music since Mozart's early death.

Actually she was entirely of Russian Jewish descent. She was from the south though. The racists in the media back in the day who detested her Jewishness wrote racist attacks against her to hurt her career implying she was mixed race back when that was taboo.
