Yes indeed.
Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus and actually ordered the Union Army to invade New York when the poor rioted in defiance of the new draft law (end scene from "Gangs of New York").
As far as Alex Jones goes, I do agree with him on the NWO, but his vision is a bit too apocalyptic for me (similar to the Evangelical Christians like Pat Robertson who are always predicting that "armageddon" and "the rapture" are coming soon).

Most people are just out to make a buck in the end, whether they genuinely believe that they are helping society or not.

I remember my parents railing in '71 about the gold standard. I was more shocked at what a fraud the entire banking system was & how they write the rules and no one protects you.
The money & banking class was in'79 & that prof also talked about how the day was comming soon when all transactions would electronic - no more writing a check on Thurs for groceries when you don't get paid to friday.

My great great got caught in tennessee buying horses for his stables when war broke out and was made a cavalry officer for the south. He made his break at Gettyburgh and damn near got killed doing so. It took him 2 months to get back to Pittsburgh. But he was a 'horse trader' after all LOL

I'll definitely look for it! I was really lucky, my mother and father both worked so my grandmother who lived with us did a lot of my raising. She was born in 1899 and had one hell of a grand grasp of history. She told me about the 'truth' of the good old days, stories about company stores, child labor, disposable workers, crooked politicians, old school perverts and molesters and all the other things we are told are new to this day and age. I have the perspective of over a century.

Yeah, my grandma (from Chicago) was born in 1912 I think, but she died when I was 12 years old. I've probably learned more about the old days from my uncle (77 years old now).
Everyone worked at either the steel mill or the General Mills cereal factory on Chicago's South Side. I also had a lot of family in the service (army) on both sides (my dad's dad fought with Gen. Patton in WWII).

As usual the voice of reason is only heard after the disaster. Isn't it ironic how Ron Paul gets more TV exposure than EVER now that he's not in the presidential race? He's probably the most knowledgeable person in our government on how the economy works.
What's the latest on McCain or Obama on WHY they voted for the bailout??
NOTHING, NEITHER OF THEM WILL CHANGE ANYTHING
