No Blackmore is his creator. He brought him along after Deap Purple(Rodger Glover). when he started Blackmores Rainbow He brought RJD in. However they are both great

elbo33, this was before Dio was part of Sabbath. This was near the beginning of his career as a singer. You take that back zombiescottsman, Ritchie Blackmore is awesome, besides your comparing a vocalist to a guitarist, it's like apples and oranges. Dio wasn't that big until after Blackmore brought him on to Rainbow, after Rainbow, Dio went on to Black Sabbath. Blackmore made Dio.
