We Were Soldiers is a 2002 war film that dramatized the Battle of Ia Drang in November 1965, the first major engagement of American troops in the Vietnam War. The film was directed by Randall Wallace and stars Mel Gibson. It is based on the book We Were Soldiers Once -And Young by Lieutenant General (Ret.) Hal Moore and reporter Joseph L. Galloway, both of whom were at the battle.

| Really...and you are 33 years old. That would mean that you were born in 1975. Jack and Barbara Geoghegan's daughter was born circa 1965. He was killed during the Battle of Ia Drang in November 1965. I guess that would make your mother about 10 years old when she gave birth to you. Hmmm... |

| I am blessed to have served has an Vietnam era Veteran, to have known and served with many great, quiet and loud Men and women, thankfully the ladies knew there place then lol just kidn, but really, this was a great film, I also respect and salute those who fought in Wars before, and present, to my late Fosterdad, Robert Hill who passed on in 1979, a WWII Black American Vet, a quiet hard working proud man, Bob I never joined a gang, or any of that just live for Jesus and right ta arms Amen! |
