Larry was "the man apart" in the past, he is "the man apart now," and he will continue to be "the man apart" in the future. Now get with what REAL music is! It's an ART not a RACE! Some people think you have to always play fast to be good. That's bullshit! I can get tired of that real quick. However, I NEVER get tired of Larry Carlton's guitar playing because he can play anyway he wants and definitely put ART to everything he does. HE IS THE VERY BEST ALIVE!

There is no one better, guitar player of course, in the world in sheer form, skill, and technique than Larry Carlton. He does things with the guitar that are impossible for anyone else in the world, including greats like Eric Clapton and Santana. Nothing Special? You don't know shit from shinola. He's the most comprehensive studio musician guitarist period, working with hundreds of different artists.

Also, after having been shot in the throat in a hapless robbery in his own 'room 335' studio, he was able to return to his album "on solid ground" which is nothing short of brilliant. He plays with a custom guitar made by a music shop in California called "Valley Arts." I've been there, and Larry is held in very high esteem. Just take a close look at his guitar and you'll see the valley arts signature.

Hi Mr. burnettvicefan. I'm a Miami Vice fan too. Those shows were great. I miss them.
Larry Carlton was shot in his driveway. I remember that day. I was watching the 700 Club and his wife Michelle called for prayer for Larry. PRAISE GOD, Larry lived and is still one of the best, finest guitar players ever. Everyone loves and respects Larry Carlton. Look at all the people he plays with. He's the guitar player for FOURPLAY too!!

impress you ? what are you looking for ? super fast sweeping and tapping ? - I think guitar and the people who play it, is one of the only instruments where people need to be "impressed"... Larry is much more than a guitarist... he is a musician! - and a great legendary one. I suggest you try and learn to appreciate what hes doing as it seems you have missed the point entirely.
