It is actually very "mild" on the knees. To make it even easier, you can hold onto a fixed object (about head height) and lean back during the movement, to keep your body weight shifted even more on your heels.

There is no such thing as spot reduction. One should say in the video comment burn calories overall which helps lose weight. It's better than being wordy with burn fat in your legs and butt which implies spot reduction which doesn't exist.

I'm doing 100-150 squats per day with light weights. I need to lose fat, I assume this will o ly help me build muscle but not reduce fat? Another poster said overall sweating is required for fat reduction, that there is no such thing as spot redux. What is the truth here?

I don't think anything is as intense as normal squats (perhaps deadlifts). But Frog Squats are a great body-weight alternative.
