I had never heard of Terry prior to seeing him at the Cork Jazz Festival a few years back - I bought the Essential Terry Callier the next day...the last copy in HMV. The guy's a Genius.

Terry Callier recorded a great tune with a French band,Grand Tourism.The song is called :Les Courants D Air.Its been released as a single,and unfortunately doesnt appear on any album yet;probably a question of rights.Terry est un grand musicien.Respect from a French fan.

Thanks, guys! I downloaded the whole Timepeace album plus Live With Me, with Massive Attack. I am now on a mission to tell people about this incredibly talented musician. I am amazed that all these years I have not heard of him! His story must be a good one, and I would like to see him on David Letterman and a story in Rolling Stone (which is where I first read his name, which led me here to YouTube). Now I count myself as a huge Callier fan. I can't get enough of this song and of Live With Me.

The man is an undergound legend. So talented yet so down-to-earth. Spread the word everyone - he deserves it! His music has something for everyone. If you can find African Violet anywhere give it a listen, and 'I'd rather be with you' is one of my favourites. One of the comments says he disappeared from the business for a while to raise his daughter - this song tells the story.....

I got those albums. Heck, I got all the stuff he's put out since his '97 comeback 'Timepeace'. He's quite simply one of the most important artists we've got going today here in the U.S. SHOULD'VE BLOWN UP IN THE EARLY '70S, TOO! He's right in there with Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, and Bill Withers...
