Paris Hilton checks into jail

Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Monday, June 4, 2007.
Paris Hilton is now behind bars. The hotel heiress began her sentence last night at a Los Angeles County jail for violating probation in a reckless driving case. Prior to starting her sentence, she attended the MTV Movie Awards. Hilton told reporters she was scared but ready to serve her time. She was originally ordered to spend 45 days in jail but she's expected to only stay 23 days for good behavior.
Last night's MTV movie Awards honored some of the biggest films of the year...as voted on by the public. Some of the big winners include Sacha Baron Cohen who won best comedic performance for "Borat." He also grabbed the award for "Best Kiss" with Will Ferrell in "Talladega Nights." Mike Myers was honored with the Generation Award. Johnny Depp took best performance of the year for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Pirates" also took the top prize for best movie.
Actress Jennifer Aniston is reportedly investing in Smartwater. The actress helped create a limited edition of the healthy drink which will be on the shelves in July. She'll also appear in an upcoming print ad campaign for the company. The ads will be photographed by a well known fashion photographer and will be out this summer.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" is hanging on to its spot at the top. It was number one at U.S. box offices for the second weekend in a row bringing in more than 43 million dollars in ticket sales. The new comedy "Knocked Up" starring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen grabbed the second spot. And "Shrek the Third" followed closely at number three.
Singer Nick Lachey is showing his support for hunger awareness. He served meals to poor children in Ohio Friday. It was part of an event to support the upcoming National Hunger Awareness Day tomorrow. He also reportedly signed autographs and took photos with the kids at the event.
