Then you heard wrong. The people who directed this music video were the directors of the award winning Little Miss Sunshine. The video is influnced by the early 1900's silent film called, A trip the Moon. The cover for Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, their extremely successful double album. This song isn't monotone at all, and is very inspirational in meaning and instrumentaly. U2 isn't nearly as artistic as this band. Smashing Pumpkins lyrics are extremely artistic and original.
