They are both great, and I am not comparing. But fans of this song should hear Shirley's version as well. Shirley was very much emotionally present when she sung it, dynamic and powerful. She fully embodies the song.
Barbara's version is sweet and beautiful. I like it very much, too.

But Regine screeches and has a very superficial sound. It's all an empty head tone. Even with all the notes she can hit, she has no unique vocal quality. She's no doubt the greatest karaoke singer EVER, but not a true artist.
